Job Description

The FISH Swim Team is seeking a qualified candidate who can coach our 9 - 12 year-old athletes. Responsibilities for this position include strong organizational and coaching skills, such as: writing work-outs, setting goals, developing long-range season plans, and assuring continuing progression to the senior level. Candidate will also be involved with the day-to-day operation of the team. This position will offer a competent coach an opportunity for tremendous development and growth on the local, national and international level.

Job Qualifications

Ideal candidate should have superb organizational and administrative strengths including solid computer skills and comprehensive knowledge of TeamUnify. Candidate needs to have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to connect with the swimmers and parents alike, and preferably 3-5 years of USA Swimming coaching experience. Most importantly, we are looking for an individual who is passionate about coaching, detail-oriented, readily accepts responsibility, and who is creative and willing to grow.

Background

We are a Silver Medal and Level 4 recognized USA Swimming Team with over 350 athletes. The team was founded by CEO and Coach, Ray Benecki, and has been in existence for over 30 years. The FISH was the home of Kate Ziegler, a two time Olympian and multi-year World Champion. The FISH compete within the Potomac Valley LSC (PVS), which is known for its very competitive swimming and has thousands of active members.
